Job Title: Multiskill Technician – Maintenance

Department: Maintenance / Engineering

Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor / Plant Engineer

Job Summary

A Multiskill Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring smooth operation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive Key Responsibilities

1. Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) on machines and utilities.

- Identify potential failures and take proactive corrective actions.

- Maintain accurate maintenance documentation.

2. Breakdown & Corrective Maintenance

- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation faults.

- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize downtime.

- Conduct root-cause analysis and suggest long-term solutions.

3. Mechanical Maintenance

- Repair pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, motors, bearings, belts.

- Perform alignment, lubrication, welding, and fabrication tasks.

4. Electrical Maintenance

- Diagnose issues related to motors, VFDs, relays, contactors, and PLC-based machines.

- Handle wiring, panel maintenance, sensor installation, and electrical safety checks.

5. Instrumentation & Automation

- Inspect and calibrate sensors, transmitters, flow meters, and controllers.

- Assist with troubleshooting PLC and automation faults.

6. Safety Compliance

- Follow safety protocols including LOTO and proper PPE usage.

- Participate in safety audits and training.

7. Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain logs, breakdown reports, spare parts usage, and PM records.

8. Continuous Improvement

- Suggest ideas for improving equipment reliability and cost efficiency.

- Participate in TPM, Kaizen, 5S, and lean initiatives.

Required Skills and Competencies

- Strong mechanical, electrical, and basic instrumentation knowledge.

- Ability to read engineering and wiring diagrams.

- Hands-on troubleshooting skills.

- Understanding of industry safety standards.

- Basic computer skills for documentation.

Educational Qualifications

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance.

- Additional multi-skill certification is an advantage.

Experience

3 –5 years of relevant maintenance experience preferred.
