Pharmacist

Key Responsibilities

• Dispensing Medication: Accurately preparing, labeling, and dispensing medications according to doctor prescriptions.
• Patient Counseling: Advising patients on medication administration, proper storage, potential side effects, and potential interactions with other drugs.
• Prescription Verification: Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and safety, including checking for appropriate dosages and drug contraindications.
• Health Promotion: Providing immunizations (such as flu shots) and health screenings, including advice on managing chronic conditions like asthma or diabetes.
• Collaboration: Working with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement optimal treatment plans for patients.
• Inventory & Records: Managing pharmacy inventory, including ordering and storing medication safely, and maintaining accurate patient records and regulatory documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
• License: A valid license to practice as a pharmacist in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of drug interactions, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills for effective patient counseling and team communication.
• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in dispensing medication to prevent errors.
