We’re looking for a seasoned Senior Accountant to join our team, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and effective financial management within our operations.

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing key financial functions, including month-end and year-end closings, financial reporting, tax compliance, and process improvements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to support John Finlay India’s financial health and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting & Analysis:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting, including variance analysis, budget vs. actuals, and forecast projections.

1. Accounting Operations:

• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed asset accounting.
• Oversee cash flow, banking, and treasury functions to ensure liquidity and funding needs are met.
• Reconcile complex financial transactions, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger entries.

1. Tax Compliance & Audit:

• Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST, TDS, and other statutory returns.
• Support external audits and liaise with auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
• Maintain updated knowledge of tax regulations and ensure company compliance with local and international accounting standards.

1. Budgeting & Forecasting:

• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts.
• Work with department heads to gather relevant information for budgeting and provide feedback on budget adherence.
• Identify areas of cost-saving and process improvements to optimize financial performance.

1. Process Improvement & Internal Controls:

• Establish and enforce internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data accuracy.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and best accounting practices.

1. Team Leadership & Collaboration:

• Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on best practices and professional development.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial objectives and operational goals.
• Communicate financial insights and recommendations to senior management.    

1. Creating Financial Models

• Responsible to create the Financial models on calculating ROI.
• Should be able to create IRR based financial models for entire project
• Should be able to work on Capex and Opex models for creating the financial models

1. CashFlow model

9.      Help in product/equipment base financing.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CA, CPA, or CMA preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in [specify relevant industry, e.g., manufacturing, heavy machinery].
• Strong understanding of Indian accounting standards (Ind AS), GST, and TDS regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software ZOHO & XERO systemS.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
