Job Title: Agile Practitioner - Scrum Master, AVP

Location: Pune, India

Role Description

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Agile Practitioner Scrum Master to screening team deliveries within the Anti‑Financial Crime (AFC) department.

  • The Agile Practitioner will be responsible for managing team scrums, facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to ensure the successful delivery of high‑impact solutions that enhance our financial crime detection and prevention capabilities.

Your key responsibilities

  • Monitor Lean Waste, maintain risk and issue logs, and work with the Product Owner group to feed new stories arising from risks or issues into the product backlog.

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

  • Lead up to two Agile teams as a servant‑leader and Agile coach, guiding them on Agile principles and best practices.

  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts, and Technical Leads to ensure clear understanding and prioritization of the product backlog.

  • Collaborate with Project Managers/Leads and DevOps and Release Management teams to create, track, and manage fix versions.

  • Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team’s progress.

  • Track and report key Agile metrics (e.g., velocity, burndown charts) to stakeholders.

  • Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure the team adheres to Agile values and principles and follows agreed‑upon processes.

  • Support the team in achieving high levels of performance and quality.

  • Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches across the AFC department to align on cross‑team dependencies and Agile maturity.

  • Conduct periodic sync meetings with Scrum Masters and stakeholders across tribes.

  • Produce sprint and release progress/status reports as required for senior stakeholders, project working groups, and steering committees.

  • Share responsibility for the quality of work delivered by the team; hold yourself and the team accountable.

  • Shield the team from external interference that may reduce focus.

Preferred – Release Train Engineer (RTE) Capability

Candidates with RTE experience will additionally:

  • Support PI Planning, quarterly planning, and ART‑level cadence.

  • Facilitate multi‑team dependency mapping, readiness, and system‑demo alignment.

  • Drive release readiness, risk forecasting, and inter‑squad coordination.

Agile Delivery

  • Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand‑ups, Refinement, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives.

  • Serve as a servant‑leader for Agile teams, ensuring adherence to Scrum values, Agile principles, and delivery best practices.

  • Support the Product Owner in backlog refinement, prioritization, and readiness.

  • Track Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, flow efficiency) and present delivery insights to stakeholders.

  • Monitor Lean Waste, maintain risk and issues logs, and work with the Product Owner group to feed new stories arising from risks or issues into the product backlog

Team Enablement & Delivery Governance

  • Identify and remove impediments, ensuring smooth and predictable sprint execution.

  • Shield the team from external distractions and enable a high‑focus, high‑quality delivery environment.

  • Maintain sprint hygiene, fix‑version planning, and release coordination in collaboration with DevOps/Release Management.

  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean waste identification, RCA, and actionable retrospectives.

  • Produce sprint and release status reports for senior stakeholders, working groups, and steering committees.

Cross‑Team Alignment

  • Coordinate with other Scrum Masters, RTEs, and Agile Coaches across AFC Tech to manage dependencies and align delivery plans.

  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums, tribe syncs, and cross‑platform delivery forums.

  • Ensure risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions are clearly logged and communicated.

Preferred – Release Train Engineer (RTE) Capability

Candidates with RTE experience will additionally:

  • Support PI Planning, quarterly planning, and ART‑level cadence.

  • Facilitate multi‑team dependency mapping, readiness, and system‑demo alignment.

  • Drive release readiness, risk forecasting, and inter‑squad coordination.

Your skills and experience

Required

  • 8–10 years of IT experience with 5+ years as a Scrum Master in a large-scale, regulated enterprise environment.

  • Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and Agile delivery tools (JIRA, Confluence).

  • Proven experience working with globally distributed engineering, data, and compliance teams.

  • Strong facilitation, conflict‑resolution, and stakeholder‑management skills.

  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I or higher) is required.

  • Highly Desirable

  • Experience as Release Train Engineer (SAFe RTE) or supporting ART‑level events.

  • Exposure to AFC Screening, KYC, AML, Sanctions, or Financial Crime platforms, particularly alert lifecycle management or Screening Workbench.

  • Knowledge of the SAFe framework or large-scale Agile environments.
