Assistant Manager (Supplier Development & Sourcing) | Automotive | Pune

Join Aera Gas Control Systems Pvt. Ltd. (Aera GCS) — a fast-growing Tier-2 automotive component manufacturer specializing in pneumatic & hydraulic solenoid valve assemblies, supplier to leading OEMs and Tier-1s.

We are looking for a dynamic Assistant Manager – Supplier Development & Sourcing with 4–6 years of experience in multi-commodity procurement and supplier development in the automotive industry.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end supplier development for machined parts, plastics, sheet metal, rubber, springs, forgings, castings (PDC, SGI), and electrical components.
• Drive supplier identification, audits, qualification, and development across domestic and global markets.
• Manage RFQs, RFPs, cost breakdowns (ZBC, should-costing), and commercial negotiations.
• Track raw material indexes (e.g., Nalco, CIAM, steel, copper, aluminium) for cost intelligence and proactive negotiations.
• Ensure supplier compliance to APQP, PPAP, Run@Rate, and IATF 16949 / VDA 6.3 / ISO 9001 requirements.
• Implement strategic sourcing initiatives — supplier consolidation, localization, and long-term contracts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally for tooling & capacity planning and new project sourcing.
• Monitor supplier performance (OTD, PPM, cost competitiveness) and drive improvements.
• Stay updated on global sourcing trends, commodity prices, and currency fluctuations.
• Improve procurement processes using digital tools, dashboards, and structured reporting.

Requirements

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (mandatory).
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in automotive supplier development & sourcing with multi-commodity exposure.
• Hands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, supplier audits, and ERP systems (SAP / Tally ERP / equivalent).
• Exposure to strategic sourcing and global sourcing is a plus.
• Strong negotiation, costing, and supplier relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication and analytical abilities with advanced Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel (domestic and international if required).
