Associate Business Analyst

Job Description

Business Analyst – Sports (Motorsport / Automotive Engineering Domain)

Location: India (Remote)
Experience: 4–8 years (flexible based on domain depth)
Employment Type: Full-time / Contract (as applicable)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong domain expertise in Sports Engineering—specifically Motorsport, Automotive, or High‑Performance Engineering—who can bridge engineering teams, manufacturing units, and business stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on exposure across the full product lifecycle, from concept development and simulation through manufacturing, testing, validation, and performance optimization, and translate complex technical data into clear business insights, requirements, and decision support.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as a domain-focused Business Analyst working closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and program management teams.
  • Translate engineering and performance requirements into structured business requirements documents (BRDs), functional specifications, and user stories.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to align technical feasibility, cost, timelines, and performance goals.
  • Support leadership with data-driven insights for investment decisions, program trade-offs, and roadmap planning.

Sports / Motorsport Domain Enablement

  • Analyze requirements related to vehicle performance, powertrain systems, drivetrain, aerodynamics, and EV systems within sports or motorsport programs.
  • Support programs involving race vehicles, simulation-driven development, testing, and validation.
  • Interface between simulation teams, design engineers, and manufacturing partners to ensure requirements are actionable and measurable.
  • Understand and document regulatory, compliance, and sporting rule constraints (e.g., motorsport regulations, homologation needs).

Development-to-Manufacturing Lifecycle Support

  • Work across concept design, CAD/CAE validation, prototyping, manufacturing, assembly, and testing phases.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and supplier teams to capture DFM/DFA constraints, tolerances, cost drivers, and lead times.
  • Track requirement fulfillment across development milestones and manufacturing readiness reviews.
  • Support change management when design or manufacturing constraints impact scope, cost, or timelines.

Data, Reporting & Decision Support

  • Analyze performance data, simulation outputs, testing results, and validation reports to derive business insights.
  • Create executive dashboards, summaries, and KPI reports for program reviews.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process gaps, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities.

Required Skills & Experience

Domain & Functional Skills

  • Strong understanding of Sports Engineering / Motorsport / Automotive Engineering domains.
  • Experience working across development → manufacturing → testing/validation lifecycles.
  • Ability to interpret and contextualize:
    • CAD/CAE outputs
    • Simulation results
    • Testing and validation data
    • Manufacturing and supplier constraints
  • Experience in requirements analysis, process mapping, and stakeholder communication.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Familiarity with engineering tools and concepts such as:
    • CAD/CAE platforms (e.g., Siemens NX, SolidWorks, CATIA)
    • Simulation and performance tools (lap time simulation, vehicle dynamics, powertrain models)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert technical complexity into business language.
  • Excellent documentation and presentation skills.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in remote, cross‑functional, and global teams.
  • Structured problem‑solving and decision‑making mindset.
  • Leadership presence to engage with senior engineering and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Motorsport, or related fields.
  • Exposure to motorsport programs, EV powertrain projects, or high‑performance vehicle development.
  • Experience working with OEMs, R&D teams, or manufacturing partners.
  • Prior experience in Formula Student, Formula SAE, motorsport teams, or automotive R&D is a strong plus.
