Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Azure DevOps Engineer to lead the development, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure and solutions. In this role, you will oversee project implementations using emerging technologies such as containers, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, and automation tools. Your leadership will ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and reliable solutions supporting organizational digital transformation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate new technologies, mentor team members, and drive continuous improvement aligned with enterprise strategies.

Software Requirements

• Required: Azure Portal, Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, ARM templates, Bash scripting, Git, Jenkins, Terraform (preferred), Ansible (preferred)

• Preferred: HashiCorp Vault, Helm charts, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus)

• Experience level: 7+ years in cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps practices supporting complex enterprise environments

Overall Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of cloud infrastructure using Azure and emerging technologies

• Mentor and guide junior team members on best practices for system automation, security, and scalability

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to evaluate, recommend, and adopt new technologies to optimize business processes

• Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using ARM templates, Terraform, and Ansible to automate resource provisioning and management

• Implement containerization and orchestration solutions using Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring high availability and scalability

• Support CI/CD pipelines, automate deployment workflows, and optimize system performance and reliability

• Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement security best practices

• Ensure compliance with security standards and enterprise policies, including secret management and access controls

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, deployment procedures, and operational standards

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Programming Languages:

  • Essential: Bash, PowerShell; preferred: Python for automation scripting

• Cloud Technologies:

  • Azure resource provisioning (App Services, VMs, Virtual Networks, Azure SQL, Function App, Web Apps)

  • Basic understanding of AWS or GCP is a plus

• Frameworks and Libraries:

  • Helm charts, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, Terraform, Ansible

• Development Tools & Methodologies:

  • Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates), Agile/Scrum methodologies

• Security & Compliance:

  • Secrets management (Azure Key Vault, HashiCorp Vault), encryption standards, identity management, role-based access control

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure and automation in large-scale enterprise or financial environments

• Proven expertise in deploying and managing Azure cloud resources, containers, and orchestration tools

• Extensive experience in IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation

• Knowledge of cloud security practices and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC)

• Previous leadership or team mentoring experience in a DevOps or cloud engineering environment

Day-to-Day Activities

• Manage, automate, and optimize cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines

• Lead resource provisioning, configuration, and infrastructure automation activities

• Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to enhance system performance and security posture

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop solutions

• Conduct system health monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning

• Develop and maintain documentation on deployment architecture, automation scripts, and operational procedures

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies to improve efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant professional experience accepted

• 7+ years of experience supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, and DevOps initiatives in enterprise environments

• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer, or equivalent preferred

• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, containerization, security, and compliance practices

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills

• Leadership capabilities and experience managing technical teams
