BlackLine Developer - Finance Automation Specialist

BlackLine Developer - Pune - Consultant/Senior Consultant

We are seeking a BlackLine Developer to design, build, and optimize BlackLine modules—Account Reconciliation, Transaction Matching, and Journal Entry—supporting finance transformation, close acceleration, and control enhancements. The role involves solution design, configuration, integration, data preparation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement in partnership with Finance, Accounting, and IT. 

Solution Design and Configuration 

• Translate accounting and control requirements into BlackLine configurations for Account Reconciliation, Transaction Matching, and Journal Entry
• Design reconciliation templates, formats, and rules, including preparer/approver workflows, aging, certification, and supporting documentation
• Configure Transaction Matching rules and data models, including multi-criteria matching, thresholds, tolerances, and exception management
• Set up Journal Entry workflows, approval matrices, posting rules 

Testing and Quality Assurance

• Create test strategies and scripts for unit, system, UAT, and regression testing across modules
• Conduct scenario-based testing for matching rules, reconciliation certifications, and journal workflows
• Validate control requirements (e.g., preparer/approver sign-offs, audit trails, evidence retention)
• Diagnose and resolve defects; perform root-cause analysis and performance tuning

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or related field
• 3–5+ years implementing or developing within BlackLine, with hands-on experience in: 
  • Account Reconciliation: templates, formats, workflows, rules, auto-certification, variance thresholds
  • Transaction Matching: rule design, multi-pass matching, exception handling, data normalization
  • Journal Entry: workflow configuration, approval matrices, posting integrations to ERP
  • Knowledge of accounting processes, month-end close, reconciliations, and internal controls/SOX
  • Proven track record in configuration, testing, documentation, and user training
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Preferred BlackLine certifications (e.g., Account Reconciliations, Transaction Matching, Journals)
  • Experience with performance tuning of matching rules and large data volumes
