Job Description
Position OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will specialize in authentic Indian cuisine, bringing creativity, consistency, and cultural depth to our menu. This role involves preparing traditional and modern Indian dishes, managing kitchen operations, and ensuring high standards of food quality and hygiene.
- Key ResponsibilitiesMenu development: Design and innovate Indian dishes, including regional specialties (North Indian, South Indian, Mughlai, street food, etc.).
- Food preparation: Cook and present meals with authentic flavors, spices, and techniques.
- Ingredient management: Source, select, and maintain fresh spices, herbs, and produce essential to Indian cuisine.
- Quality control: Ensure consistency in taste, portion, and presentation across all dishes.
- Kitchen management: Supervise staff, assign tasks, and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
- Training: Mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants in Indian cooking methods and recipes.
- Customer satisfaction: Collaborate with front-of-house staff to adapt dishes to customer preferences and dietary needs.
- Compliance: Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Qualifications & SkillsCulinary expertise: Proven experience in Indian cuisine, with knowledge of regional variations and modern fusion trends.
- Education: Diploma/degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional training.
- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years as a chef specializing in Indian food.
- Creativity: Ability to innovate while preserving authenticity.
- Leadership: Strong team management and communication skills.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to work in fast-paced environments and cater to diverse clientele.
