CNC Machinist

Salary:

Fresher: ₹12,000 – ₹18,000 per month (8 to 12 hrs.)

2–5 Years Experience: ₹18,000 – ₹25,000 per month (8 to 12 hrs.)

Job Summary:

A CNC Setter is responsible for setting up CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines for production runs.

The role includes installing tools, loading programs, setting offsets, and ensuring machines operate efficiently to produce high-quality components according to engineering drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up CNC machines (Turning / VMC) as per job specifications
• Install and adjust cutting tools, fixtures, and workpieces
• Load and verify CNC programs
• Set tool offsets and work offsets
• Conduct trial runs and inspect first-off components
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
• Perform in-process inspection using measuring instruments (Vernier caliper, Micrometer, Height gauge, etc.)
• Make minor program edits and adjustments if required
• Ensure machine cleanliness and basic preventive maintenance
• Maintain production and quality records
• Follow safety procedures and company policies

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant field
• Proven experience as a CNC Setter (2–5 years preferred)
• Knowledge of G-code and M-code
• Ability to read technical drawings
• Familiarity with Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controllers
• Good understanding of tolerances and surface finish requirements

Preferred Skills:

• Basic programming knowledge
• Experience in precision machining
• Knowledge of 5S and Kaizen practices

Working Conditions:

• Manufacturing / Production environment
• Rotational shifts may be required
• Standing for extended periods
