Job Description
- Technical SkillsReading and understanding engineering drawings & GD&T
- Machine setup on VMC (job setting, datum setting)
- Tool selection, tool offset & wear offset setting
- Knowledge of cutting tools (end mills, drills, inserts, holders)
- Operating CNC controllers (Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi / Haas)
- Basic CNC programming understanding (G-codes & M-codes)
- Program loading, editing, and dry run
- Use of measuring instruments:
- Vernier caliper
- Micrometer
- Bore gauge
- Height gauge
- Dial indicator
- Part inspection and quality checking
- Understanding of feeds, speeds, depth of cut
- Handling coolant & lubrication systems
- Machine & Process KnowledgeVMC machine operation (3-axis / 4-axis basic)
- Fixture and clamping methods
- Basic knowledge of materials (MS, SS, Aluminum, Brass, etc.)
- Cycle time monitoring and process optimization
- Preventive machine maintenance (TPM basics)
- Safety & QualityMachine safety rules and PPE usage
- Following SOPs & work instructions
- Awareness of 5S, ISO, and quality standards
- Scrap control and rework prevention
- Soft SkillsAttention to detail
- Time management & productivity focus
- Problem-solving during machining issues
- Teamwork with programmers, supervisors & QC
