Summary:
As a Custom Software Engineer, you will engage in the development of custom software solutions that are designed to meet specific business needs. Your typical day will involve coding, enhancing components, and collaborating with various teams to ensure that the software solutions are scalable and high-performing. You will utilize modern frameworks and agile practices to deliver effective results, contributing to the overall success of the projects you are involved in.

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions to enhance team capabilities.
- Mentor junior team members to foster their professional growth.
- Analyze functional and technical requirements and translate them into robust PEGA solution designs
- Support business process modeling using PEGA Case Management and flow-based designs
- Contribute to solution concepts and technical designs in alignment with the Lead System Architect
Implementation & Delivery
- Implement PEGA components including case types, flows, UI components, data models, and business rules
- Apply strong knowledge of PEGA Constellation for the implementation of modern, scalable, and standardized PEGA user interfaces
- Develop validations, decision logic, and integrations based on defined requirements
- Refine user stories and support effort estimations
- Ensure implementation follows PEGA Guardrails, design principles, and coding standards
- Participate in refinement sessions, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Coordinate implementation topics with Business Analysts, QA, and integration teams
- Support technical alignment with other PEGA teams and shared services
- Set up unit tests
- Analyze, fix, and document defects
- Support regression and performance testing activities
- Support junior developers and less experienced System Architects
- Act as a technical contact for specific U.PRM-related components or features

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Pega Architecture.
- Good To Have Skills: Experience with Pega Platform.
- Strong understanding of software development life cycle methodologies.
- Experience with agile project management tools and practices.
- Familiarity with integration techniques and APIs.
- PEGA Platform (App Studio & Dev Studio)
- PEGA Sales Automation for Insurance Framework
- Integration patterns (REST, SOAP, file-based, services/connectors)
- Jira / Confluence
- Insurance processes (beneficial, not obligatory)
- Agile methodologies (Scrum / SAFe-like setups)
- Object-oriented and rule-based design
- PEGA Guardrails & application layering

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Pega Architecture.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
