Job Summary

The Debt Recovery Agent is responsible for contacting customers with overdue accounts, negotiating repayment plans, and ensuring timely recovery of outstanding dues. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, negotiation abilities, and a customer-first mindset while adhering to all compliance and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Contact customers via phone calls, emails, or messages to recover outstanding payments.

Assess customer financial situations and negotiate feasible repayment plans.

Maintain accurate records of all interactions, commitments, and payment arrangements.

Follow up on promises to pay and ensure adherence to agreed timelines.

Handle customer queries professionally and resolve disputes effectively.

Escalate complex or uncooperative cases to senior team members or supervisors.

Achieve monthly recovery targets as defined by management.

Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and applicable legal guidelines.

Provide timely updates and reports to the team lead/manager.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 1–2 years of experience in debt collection, telecalling, or customer service (freshers with excellent communication skills may also apply).

Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.

Good command of spoken Hindi and English; knowledge of regional languages is a plus.

Familiarity with basic computer applications (MS Excel, CRM tools, etc.).

Ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations.

Goal-oriented mindset with the ability to meet targets under deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with banking, NBFC, telecom, or fintech clients.

Understanding of debt collection regulations and ethical recovery practices.
