Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Changes, enhancements and projects

• Develop, enhance, and maintain SAP ABAP solutions including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows (RICEFW).
• Design and develop HANA-optimized ABAP solutions, including AMDP, CDS views, Core Data Services (CDS), Open SQL, and performance pushdown techniques.

• Develop and maintain Fiori/UI5-related ABAP backend services, including OData services and gateway implementations.

• Collaborate with functional consultants to translate business requirements into scalable, high-quality ABAP code.
• Optimize and debug ABAP programs to improve performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Ensure adherence to ABAP development standards and best practices, including code reviews and unit testing.
• Support integration of ABAP developments with SAP modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, WM, and external systems.
• Prepare and maintain technical specifications, unit test plans, and documentation for all developments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues and performance bottlenecks in ABAP programs. Identify opportunities for code reusability, automation, and continuous improvement within ABAP solutions.

Cross IT Team Relationship Management

• Drive ownership of SAP integrations with third-party systems including SAP MDM, Salesforce, ServiceMax, and others through Boomi and other middleware platforms.
• Govern interface landscape for stability, including proactive error monitoring, restart/recovery, and long-term scalability.
• Lead platform lifecycle activities including SAP kernel upgrades, support package stacks, transport management, and solution manager oversight.

Vendor & Partner Management

• Define and enforce processes around user access provisioning, de-provisioning, and periodic access reviews within SAP systems.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance to access policies, change control, and system hardening guidelines.
• Stay abreast of SAP technology roadmap (e.g., ECC to S/4 readiness, RISE offerings) and assess impact on long-term IT strategy.

• Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Certification in SAP Application Development / object oriented programming languages / Middleware technologies are preferred

• 8+ years of experience in designing and developing SAP ABAP based applications with preferred exposure to interfaces using middleware solutions.

• Deliver RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, Workflows) with high-quality coding standards.

• Implement enhancements using User Exits, BADIs, BAPIs, Enhancement Frameworks, and Object-Oriented ABAP.

• Experience in performance tuning, debugging, and troubleshooting complex ABAP programs.

• Proficiency in SmartForms, SAPscript, Adobe Forms, and ALV reporting.

• Create and consume OData services, CDS Views, and support Fiori/UI5 applications in S/4HANA environments.

• Solid understanding of SAP ECC, SAP MDM, and interface technologies including Boomi, PI/PO, or other middleware tools.
