Key Responsibilities:
Changes, enhancements and projects
- Partner with business and IT stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements for Finance and Controlling (FICO) processes including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Center Accounting, and Profitability Analysis.
- Develop functional specifications for custom developments (RICEFW) and coordinate with ABAP/technical teams for delivery.
- Configure and support SAP FI functionalities such as GL postings, AP/AR, asset management, bank accounting, and financial closing activities.
- Configure and support SAP CO processes including cost element/cost center accounting, internal orders, profit centers, product costing, and profitability analysis (COPA).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on system integration, data migration, and interface design with MM, SD, and other modules.
- Design and execute test scenarios and scripts, supporting SIT, UAT, and regression testing for FICO processes.
- Lead system testing, defect management, data migration, and cutover activities to ensure readiness for go-live.
- Provide go-live and hypercare support, ensuring stability of finance and controlling operations post-implementation.
- Identify and implement continuous improvements, automation, and process optimization in financial and controlling areas.
- Ensure global standardization and compliance with accounting, tax, and audit requirements across entities.
Support & Operations
- Manage incidents, service requests and problems with the help of IT vendor
- Analyze recurring issues and come up with permanent fixes
- Maintain process documentations and SOPs
Business Relationship Management
- Act as a strategic partner to Finance, Controlling, Treasury, Tax, and Shared Services teams, ensuring IT solutions align with evolving business and statutory needs.
- Lead regular engagement forums with Finance leadership to prioritize initiatives, gather new requirements, and align on roadmap planning.
- Support global financial compliance, statutory audits, and reporting requirements through technology solutions and automation.
- Collaborate with other IT functions (SAP MDM, Salesforce, ServiceMax) to ensure accurate financial integration and data consistency.
Innovation, Automation & Transformation
- Identify and deliver automation opportunities in areas like reconciliation, closing processes, tax reporting, and fixed asset management.
- Champion finance digital transformation, including self-service reporting, touchless transactions, and process standardization across regions.
- Drive simplification and harmonization of financial processes leveraging SAP capabilities and complementary platforms.
- Evaluate and integrate external solutions (e.g., OneSource, BlackLine) and ensure seamless integration with SAP via platforms such as Boomi.
Vendor & Partner Management
- Manage relationships with SAP service providers, AMS partners, and consulting firms supporting finance systems and projects.
- Implement structured vendor governance, including performance metrics, service reviews, and innovation contributions.
- Ensure vendor compliance with financial data security, SOX controls, and audit traceability.
- Basic Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in SAP IT Individual contributor role, with deep focus on Finance, Controlling, and related domains (R2R, Treasury, Tax).
- Strong experience with SAP ECC (FI, Fixed Assets, AP/AR, GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting) and CO (Cost Center Accounting, Internal Orders, Profit Center Accounting, Product Costing, COPA), integration with SAP MDM, and non-SAP systems.
- Hands-on experience in blueprinting, configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and post-go-live support for SAP FICO Understanding of integration platforms such as Boomi to enable seamless data flow between SAP and external systems.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Finance/Controlling innovations such as Universal Journal, New Asset Accounting, and Fiori apps are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory frameworks relevant to finance systems (e.g., SOX, IFRS, local GAAP).
