Job Title:Assistant Manager – Product Engineering

Position SummaryThis role plays a key part in driving innovation and creative thinking while ensuring customer requirements are effectively translated into product design. The position involves close collaboration with the operations team to ensure products are designed for efficient manufacturing.

The role contributes to achieving engineering objectives defined in the Annual Operating Plan while aligning with the organization’s long-term strategic roadmap. The candidate will work on multiple projects requiring innovative and technically advanced solutions.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Development & EngineeringLead and support product development activities across:

• Concept, planning, design, and execution stages
• Product enhancements and new product development
• Develop 2D and 3D CAD designs, drawings, and models
• Conduct risk assessments
• Perform prototyping and testing of concept designs
• Support pilot production and pre-production activities
• Participate in:
• Design reviews
• Design verification testing
• Product validation and usability testing
• RFQ & Design SupportRespond to RFQs from the Sales team
• Conduct feasibility studies and conceptual design development
• Prepare detailed cost design blueprints
• Support production teams to improve lead times
• Enhance product reliability and reduce field issues
• Coordinate with suppliers and assist the Purchasing team when required
• Innovation & Continuous ImprovementDrive product innovation and develop creative engineering solutions
• Identify and implement improvements in:
• Functionality
• Cost efficiency
• Design for manufacturing
• Interface with internal and external stakeholders to provide:
• Updates
• Design recommendations
• Technical analysis
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop and maintain:
• Process documentation
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Compliance & SafetyEnsure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies
• Maintain a safe working environment for employees and visitors

Education & Experience RequirementsBE / ME in Mechanical, Automobile, or Production Engineering

• 3–5 years of relevant experience (preferred in pneumatic and hydraulic products)
• Technical SkillsProficiency in Creo 5.0
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel)
• Understanding of FEA tools such as Ansys, Pro-Mechanica
• Knowledge of:
• Plastic, sheet metal, rubber part design, and castings
• Familiarity with:
• ISO 9001:2015
• IATF 16949 standards
• Physical RequirementsNo travel required
• 100% office-based role
