Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities | Functional Responsibility / Domain Related - Supporting S&P Economists for their regular and thematic research reports
- Maintaining and creating macroeconomic database from primary, secondary and third-party data sources
- Monitoring macroeconomic trends in the region and preparing the economic overview/outlook by using the upcoming economic data releases
- Staying updated on the macro-economic scenario and tracking trends of economic events
- Should be able to read research papers and create models for data analysis
- Execute work under guidance from the reporting manager and in consultation with the S&P Economists
- Ready to support on tighter deadline during quarters to help S&P economists to publish flagship reports in time
- Regularly interact with the S&P Economists to keep them updated on the projects, also attend conference calls with S&P Economists, proactively contribute in internal discussion forums
- Use Python/R to build/run economic models and streamline processes.
Process Adherence - Update task level operating manuals to document new knowledge gained and new processes
- Adopt and adhere to the defined processes in day-to-day execution of assignments as well as organization wide requirements
- Strictly practice and follow all Compliance and Information Security Policies, Procedures and Guidelines of the Organization
Client Management / Stakeholder Management - Build and maintain cordial and healthy work relationships with onshore clients and with team and internal stakeholders

Skills | - Strong macroeconomic knowledge
- Fundamental macroeconomic concepts
- Econometric modelling (R, Python, E-views, Stata, etc.)
- Apply machine learning models for time-series forecasting of key macro variables
- Strong Excel, power point presentation and report-writing skills
- Design prompts for AI tools to extract structured data from unstructured sources
- Knowledge in third party databases such as CEIC, Bloomberg, Haver, Oxford, Thomson Data stream, S&P CapIQ
- Strong communication skills – verbal and written
- Flexible in working at odd hours
- Ability to take ownership and execute tasks independently
- Positive attitude with qualities of a team player
- Open to new ideas and initiatives
