Electrical Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities – Senior Site Electrical Engineer (HT/LT & Utility Works)

1. HT/LT Electrical Works

Supervise and execute HT (11kV/22kV/33kV) and LT electrical installation as per approved drawings and standards.

Coordinate with MSEDCL/MSETCL or relevant authorities for shutdowns, inspections, testing, and approvals.

Ensure proper installation of transformers, RMUs, VCB panels, feeder pillars, junction boxes, and earthing systems.

Monitor cable laying, termination, jointing, insulation testing, and commissioning activities.

Review and ensure compliance with IE rules, safety regulations, and utility norms.

Verify contractor bills, material reconciliation, and ensure quality control at site.

2. Utility Shifting Works

Conduct site surveys to identify existing HT/LT lines, telecom cables, water supply lines, and other utilities.

Prepare utility shifting plans with minimum disruption to existing services.

Coordinate with utility owners—Electricity, Telecom, Water Dept., PWD, Road Authorities—for permissions and NOCs.

Oversee shifting of overhead lines to UG cables, pole shifting, and rerouting, ensuring safety and timelines.

Maintain documentation, work permits, and liaison records for all utility work.

3. Street Lighting Works

Supervise installation of street light poles, foundations, brackets, LED fixtures, control panels, timers, and cables.

Check lux levels, alignment, and proper commissioning of street lighting circuits.

Plan earthing & lightning protection as per standards.

Ensure material specifications match tender and approved vendor lists.

Coordinate with local authorities for energization and handing over.

4. Project Planning & Coordination

Prepare daily/weekly work schedules and ensure timely execution.

Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and ensure all work follows safety protocols.

Communicate with project managers, contractors, and clients for progress updates.

Maintain DPRs (Daily Progress Reports), quality checklists, and inspection records.
