Electrical Site Engineer

Electrical Site Engineer – Responsibilities

1. Plan and execute installation of HT and LT lines as per approved drawings and specifications

2. Supervise erection of poles, stringing of conductors, installation of insulators and accessories

3. Ensure proper installation, testing and commissioning of transformers as per standards

4. Oversee substation works including bay erection, equipment installation, cable laying and termination

5. Coordinate installation of switchgear panels, circuit breakers, isolators and protection systems

6. Ensure all earthing works are carried out as per design including equipment earthing, neutral earthing and lightning protection

7. Monitor quality of materials and workmanship at site as per project specifications and standards

8. Prepare and maintain daily progress reports, site records and measurement sheets

9. Coordinate with contractors, vendors and client representatives for smooth execution of work

10. Ensure compliance with safety standards and implement all required safety practices at site

11. Identify and resolve technical issues at site during execution

12. Verify and approve material usage and maintain inventory control at site

13. Conduct testing and commissioning activities for HT/LT systems, transformers and substations

14. Ensure adherence to project timelines and report any delays with mitigation plans

15. Attend site meetings and provide technical inputs to project team and management

16. Ensure all works are carried out as per relevant IS standards and electrical regulations

17. Support preparation of as-built drawings and project documentation

18. Coordinate with local authorities and utilities for approvals and inspections

19. Monitor manpower deployment and productivity at site
