A Service Electrician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Their roles and responsibilities often include the following: 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

1. Electrical Repairs and Maintenance

• Diagnose and repair electrical problems in wiring, switches, circuits, and fixtures.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify electrical issues or potential hazards.
• Replace or repair damaged electrical components.

2. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics

• Use testing devices like multimeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes to identify electrical malfunctions.
• Analyze blueprints, diagrams, or manufacturer manuals to pinpoint problems.
• Provide accurate assessments and recommend solutions for electrical issues.

3. Installation

• Install new electrical system PCC, MCC, APFC, RTPFC and Energy Monitoring devices.
• Ensure all installations comply with local and national electrical codes.
• Work on upgrades or retrofits of older systems to meet current standards.

4. Customer Interaction

• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their electrical needs.
• Provide estimates for work and explain the scope of repairs or installations.
• Offer advice on energy-efficient upgrades and best practices for maintenance.

5. Safety and Compliance

• Adhere to all safety protocols to avoid hazards like electrical shocks or fires.
• Ensure work meets industry standards and complies with local building codes.
• Keep up-to-date with regulations, tools, and electrical system advancements.

6. Documentation and Reporting

• Maintain detailed records of services performed, including parts replaced and hours worked.
• Prepare reports for clients or supervisors outlining work completed and recommendations.

7. Emergency Response

• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, such as power outages, sparking outlets, or damaged circuits.
• Be on call for after-hours support if required.

8. Tools and Equipment Management

• Operate and maintain tools such as drills, wire strippers, conduit benders, and testing devices.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working condition.

9. Continuous Learning

• Stay updated on advancements in electrical technology and best practices.
• Pursue certifications or additional training to expand expertise.

Required Qualification and Experience: 

• ITI – Electrician / Diploma in Electrical Engineering. 
• Experienced in relevant industry will be preferred. 
• Fresher may also apply.
