Key responsibilities

• Material preparation: Cleaning, grinding, and preparing materials for fabrication.
• Assisting skilled workers: Holding tools, helping with assembly and disassembly, and providing support to welders, fitters, and other fabricators.
• Using tools: Operating basic hand tools such as drills, saws, and wrenches.
• Workspace maintenance: Keeping the work area clean and organized. 

Required skills and attributes

• Physical fitness and the ability to follow clear instructions.
• Comfort working as part of a team.
• Ability to work in construction and manufacturing settings. 

Work environment

• Helpers work in fabrication shops or on-site locations in the construction and manufacturing sectors.
• The work environment can vary depending on the project, from the slower pace of a fabrication shop to the high-speed demands of on-site welding
