Key Responsibilities

GST & Direct Tax Compliance

• Prepare and file GST returns: GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2B reconciliation, GSTR-9/9C
• Reconcile purchase register with GSTR-2B and follow up for missing/incorrect invoices
• Ensure correct GST classification, HSN/SAC codes, and tax rates
• Handle GST notices, audits, and departmental queries
• Track and utilise Input Tax Credit (ITC) efficiently
• Coordinate with consultants for TDS, income tax, and assessments

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Process vendor invoices, verify GST compliance, and book expenses
• Manage vendor payments, payment cycles, and ageing analysis
• Reconcile vendor ledgers and resolve discrepancies
• Ensure timely deduction and payment of TDS on vendor invoices
• Maintain proper documentation for audits and compliance

Accounting & Reconciliation

• Maintain accurate books of accounts (AP, taxes, provisions)
• Perform bank, vendor, and GST reconciliations
• Support monthly and year-end closing activities
• Assist in audit preparation and provide required schedules

Process & Compliance Management

• Ensure adherence to internal controls and SOPs
• Keep track of statutory due dates and compliance calendars
• Support implementation of accounting automation/tools
• Coordinate with internal teams (procurement, ops, finance)

Skills & Qualifications Education

• B.Com / M.Com / CA-Inter / CMA-Inter
• CA with 1–3 years experience preferred for senior roles

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of GST law, ITC rules, TDS provisions
• Experience with ERP/accounting software (Tally, Zoho)
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, reconciliations)

Soft Skills

• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong follow-up and coordination skills
• Ability to handle deadlines and regulatory pressure
• Clear communication with vendors and tax authorities

Experience Range

• 1–2 years in GST compliance and accounts payable
• Startup / services / tech / events industry exposure is a plus
• Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Timely and error-free GST filings
• ITC mismatch percentage
• Vendor payment TAT
• Number of GST notices / penalties
• Accuracy of reconciliations and closures

Reporting Structure

• Reports to Finance Manager / CFO
