🎯 Job Purpose
To plan, execute, monitor, and deliver firefighting and fire protection systems for EPC projects in compliance with design specifications, applicable codes, quality, safety standards, and within project timelines and budget.
🔎 Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Design
- Review and understand project drawings, specifications, and scope related to firefighting systems.
- Assist in preparation and approval of shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and technical submissions.
- Ensure designs comply with NFPA, IS, NBC, TAC, and other relevant fire safety codes and client requirements.
Procurement & Coordination
- Prepare material requisitions, BOQs, and coordinate procurement of firefighting materials and equipment.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor submissions and participate in technical discussions.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and support procurement team as needed.
Site Execution & Supervision
- Supervise and monitor installation of firefighting systems including sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, pumps, deluge, and gas suppression systems.
- Coordinate with civil, electrical, and HVAC teams to ensure seamless integration of systems.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety norms.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company HSE policies.
- Implement quality control procedures and ensure adherence to project QA/QC plans.
Testing & Commissioning
- Plan and oversee hydrostatic testing, flow and pressure tests, and full system commissioning.
- Prepare documentation for authority inspections and support in obtaining fire safety certifications/NOCs.
- Participate in final inspections and project handover to client.
Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain project records: daily progress reports, inspection & testing records, and material tracking.
- Escalate issues, risks, and delays to Project Manager with recommendations for resolution.
📚 Qualifications & Skills
Education:
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Fire & Safety Engineering, or related field.
- Auto Cad Program working knowledge.
Experience:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in firefighting systems execution within EPC, construction, or MEP industries.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of firefighting systems, equipment, and installation practices.
- Familiarity with NFPA, IS, NBC standards.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and P&IDs.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
Soft Skills:
- Auto cad program and Microsoft office word, Excel, PowerPoint working knowledge.
- Primavera Planning Program software working knowledge.
- Good communication & interpersonal skills.
- Team player with problem-solving ability.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on quality and safety.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
