IT Procurement & Sourcing Lead | Global Vendor Management, Contract Negotiation, ERP (Oracle), Cross-Regional Sourcing
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Procurement & Sourcing Lead with expertise in IT procurement, project management, and negotiation to oversee our global IT procurement activities. In this role, you will manage end-to-end procurement processes for IT hardware, software, networking, and services across multiple regions, including India, USA, UK, and Europe. Your focus will be on optimizing costs, ensuring compliance, building supplier relationships, and supporting the organization’s strategic growth objectives. The role requires strong stakeholder management, team leadership, and effective communication skills to facilitate seamless procurement operations.
Software Requirements
Required: ERP platforms with procurement modules (Oracle Apps preferred), procurement management tools, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Preferred: Supplier management software, contract management tools, SAP or other enterprise resource planning platforms
Experience Level: Hands-on experience in procurement management systems and processing procurement activities in a corporate environment
Overall Responsibilities
Manage the complete procurement lifecycle for IT products, services, and contracts for India and global offices
Oversee purchase requisitions, supplier screening, negotiations, and contracting to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement
Actively monitor and resolve procurement escalations, prioritize requisitions, and ensure adherence to organizational policies and SLAs
Identify, evaluate, and onboard qualified suppliers and contractors, maintaining long-term supplier relationships
Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to optimize overall procurement costs and service levels
Draft and oversee clear, compliant purchase orders and contractual agreements
Coordinate with finance, legal, procurement, and admin teams to facilitate smooth procurement and compliance practices
Maintain a customer-oriented approach while engaging internal stakeholders and external suppliers
Work in USA and European time zones, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to meet business needs
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Not typically required, but familiarity with digital tools or automation scripting (e.g., Excel macros, VBA) is a plus
Databases/Data Management:
Basic understanding of data management related to procurement records and supplier data
Cloud Technologies:
Basic knowledge of cloud-based procurement and e-sourcing tools (preferred)
Frameworks and Libraries:
Not applicable to procurement; focus is on processes and tools
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Proficiency in procurement lifecycle processes, stakeholder collaboration, and project management methodologies (Agile preferred)
Security & Compliance:
Awareness of procurement compliance standards, sourcing security, and contractual risk mitigation
Experience Requirements
5+ years of experience in IT procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, preferably in global organizations
Proven experience managing indirect procurement of IT hardware, software, and services
Prior exposure to ERP procurement modules (Oracle Apps preferred) or similar enterprise systems for procurement processes
Experience in multi-region procurement management (USA, UK, Europe) is an advantage
Industry experience in IT/ITES or a non-IT sector with extensive procurement function exposure acceptable
Day-to-Day Activities
Manage the end-to-end procurement process for IT products/services, including requisitioning, vendor evaluation, negotiations, and contracting
Support requisition owners and procurement teams across regions to meet deadlines and cost targets
Conduct supplier screening, registration, and performance evaluation to ensure high-quality supply chain management
Negotiate pricing, SLAs, and contractual terms with suppliers and vendors
Oversee purchase order creation, ensure compliance, and resolve procurement-related issues
Collaborate with finance, legal, and administrative teams to execute and finalize procurement activities
Monitor procurement performance and supplier relationships, implementing continuous improvement opportunities
Maintain procurement documentation, reports, and audit trails
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, IT Management, or related field
5+ years of experience in IT/indirect procurement, with vendor negotiations, contracts, and supplier management
Hands-on experience with ERP procurement modules (Oracle Apps preferred) or similar procurement systems
Strong understanding of IT procurement categories and international sourcing standards
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Ability to work effectively across multiple regions and cultures
