Team Overview

The Functional Controlling Center of Excellence aims to provide exceptional in-depth business analysis and insight to partners across the business. We support the finance business partners with the closing-, budget- and forecasting process, review, and report on investment projects, drive the driver-based analysis and provide expertise in the area of specialist financial analysis. As a central part of the Management Reporting, Planning and Analysis team we additionally drive continuous improvement of all related processes. The team consists of 20+ colleagues working from 10 different locations.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to support the month end processes, as well as the related follow up analyses around direct and operational costs.  

 

What you do

 

Local general ledgers:

·       Review P&L accounts in SAP at month end on completeness for all Research entities

·       Define and organize accruals and prepayments

·       Review correctness of products and cost centers used

·       Review outstanding provisions and accruals and advise on releases

Consolidated ledger:

·       Compare actual numbers to Budget, Forecast and prior year and provide analyses on defined accounts

Ad hoc:

·       Prepare ad hoc analyses at the request of Financial Business Partners or other stakeholders

·       Interact with MRPA Teams (Financial Business Partners / Functional Controlling / Management Reporting) and Business

·       Support different FC areas during periods of temporary lack of resources (e.g. maternity leaves or illness)

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Degree in Finance or related field and/or comparable qualification

• Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a complex, changing environment to deliver value-added results to the organization

• Depth and breadth of technical finance knowledge

• Demonstrated ability of SAP finance/controlling system environment as well as excellent Excel and Analysis for Office skills

• Fluent in English (written and spoken)

• Strong analytical skills

• Ability to communicate effectively
