Key accountabilities

•Technical Design lead within OSS: evaluate new network and IT technologies, ensure systems are aligned to Vodafone strategy, meeting customer requirements and ensuring a sustainable support model. Working with various teams to define and validate solutions are fit for purpose, carry out lab testing and PoC validation as required.
•Work with colleagues in OSS, IT Architecture, Network Architects, Service Designers, Business Analysts, customers, and vendors to provide input into strategic roadmaps; and develop and deliver both large and small development enhancements. Responsible for technical external deliveries to ensure they are fit for purpose, and sustainable for ongoing support. Build relationships with vendors and 3rd parties to enhance future deliveries. 
•Produce high quality, comprehensive and coherent IT specifications; Input for business cases & impact assessments;  Lead vendor engagements; Ensure technical deliveries are on time, in budget, and to the desired standard. Provide or ensure support for live deployments is available in line with project needs.
•To support the third-line operational support teams in fault resolution where detailed OSS knowledge is required.
•To provide knowledge and expertise within and outside the OSS team, and provide leadership to cross-functional development and problem-solving teams

Core competencies, knowledge, and experience

•Knowledge and design experience of application and platform design of GIS systems such as ESRI’s ArcGIS.  
•Competent understanding of cloud platforms, such as AWS or GCP
•Experience of agile & waterfall delivery methodologies
•Previous experience in an OSS/Network design.
•Appreciation of key network technologies/protocols
