Role Description

  • The position sits within the central PMO competency aligned to the Chief Technology Office (CTO). The PMO functions as a horizontal capability supporting all CTO verticals, providing consistent governance, portfolio oversight, and delivery support across business‑aligned projects. The role plays a hands‑on part in project tracking, reporting, financial management, governance adherence, data quality oversight, and risk and issue management, while helping teams adopt and maintain project and portfolio standards.

Your key responsibilities

  • Assist in tracking status of project deliverables and milestones, ensuring updates are timely and accurate.
  • Support the adoption of the project management lifecycle and required artefacts.
  • Help monitor projects transitioning into BAU and maintain relevant documentation.
  • Maintain RAID logs and chase owners for updates.
  • Support change control processes by logging change requests and preparing summary inputs.
  • Assist with tracking actuals versus budget/forecast, including run‑rate checks and variance explanations.
  • Support allocation of costs to appropriate cost centres for CTB reporting.
  • Help gather and validate benefits and KPI data for quarterly reporting cycles.
  • Contribute to the implementation of governance standards across the project portfolio.
  • Perform quality checks on project documentation and ensure compliance.
  • Prepare or refresh status reports, dashboards, RAID summaries, and governance materials.
  • Extract programme data and support data quality checks.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and governance forums; document actions, decisions, and minutes.
  • Build strong working relationships with project and programme stakeholders.
  • Support initiatives to automate or streamline PMO processes.

Your skills and experience

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Proactive, motivated, and willing to learn.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Familiarity with project management tools is beneficial (e.g. Clarity / MS Project / Project Server).

Experience

  • Some experience or internship within a PMO, Technology, Operations, or Financial Services environment is beneficial.
  • Exposure to project delivery or coordination duties is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting reporting, documentation, or data analysis is desirable.
