Regional Sales Manager (RSM)

Job Purpose

The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing regional sales operations for engineering/manufacturing products. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market presence, developing key customer relationships, managing channel partners, and ensuring profitability in the assigned region.



Key Responsibilities

Sales & Revenue Generation

Achieve and exceed regional sales targets for engineering/manufactured products.

Develop and implement regional sales strategies aligned with company objectives.

Identify new business opportunities in OEMs, EPCs, contractors, distributors, and end-users.

Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements.

Channel & Dealer Management



Appoint, develop, and manage distributors, dealers, and channel partners.

Ensure proper stock availability, pricing discipline, and timely collections.

Conduct regular dealer meetings, product training, and promotional activities.

Customer Relationship Management



Build strong relationships with key customers, consultants, and decision-makers.

Handle high-value negotiations, contracts, and long-term agreements.

Resolve customer complaints and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Team Management & Development



Lead, motivate, and manage the regional sales team (Area Sales Managers, Sales Engineers).

Set individual targets, monitor performance, and conduct periodic reviews.

Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback.

Planning & Reporting



Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and monthly/quarterly reports.

Track sales performance, collections, and profitability for the region.

Coordinate with production, supply chain, and finance for order execution.

Coordination with Internal Teams



Work closely with marketing for product launches and promotional campaigns.

Coordinate with engineering/technical teams for customized solutions and technical support.

Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing, and credit norms.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Industrial preferred)

MBA / PGDM in Sales & Marketing (preferred)



Experience

8–15 years of sales experience in engineering/manufacturing industry

Minimum 3–5 years in a managerial/regional leadership role

 

Salary

8 to 10 lac Per annum

Strong B2B sales and negotiation skills

Knowledge of engineering products and industrial markets

Leadership and people management ability

Strategic planning and analytical skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills

Proficiency in CRM and MS Office



Other Requirements

Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region

Valid driving license

Strong network within industrial and manufacturing sectors
