Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Data Support Engineer to join our Regulatory Reporting team. In this role, you will provide technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for our regulatory reporting platforms, specifically focusing on Axiom and RegSol. Your expertise will ensure accurate and timely submission of reports across multiple jurisdictions, contributing to compliance, operational efficiency, and data integrity. The role requires strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, data management, and automation processes to support business-critical reporting functions.

Software Requirements

• Required: SQL, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell), Axiom, RegSol, JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office tools (Excel, Word)

• Preferred: Automation tools and APIs, data manipulation tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Experience Level: 5+ years supporting regulatory reporting systems with hands-on exposure to Axiom and RegSol

Overall Responsibilities

• Provide second-line technical support for Axiom and RegSol regulatory reporting systems, resolving data and process issues

• Troubleshoot and fix data integration, report generation, validation errors, and workflow failures

• Monitor batch jobs, data flows, and system performance, identifying and resolving failures or delays

• Collaborate with business analysts, data teams, and vendors to resolve reporting discrepancies

• Support data extraction, transformation, validation, and reconciliation activities

• Maintain detailed troubleshooting guides, process workflows, and resolution documentation

• Assist in system configuration, performance tuning, and automation initiatives

• Facilitate effective communication between technical teams and regulatory stakeholders, ensuring clarity and compliance

• Support multiple regulatory reporting deadlines by proactively managing issues and workload

Technical Skills (By Category)

• Programming Languages:

  • Required: SQL, scripting languages (Python preferred, Shell/bash)

  • Preferred: Data automation scripting, ETL scripting languages

• Databases/Data Management:

  • SQL databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle), data validation, reconciliation, and data flow management

• Cloud Technologies:

  • Basic knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP related to data processing and storage (preferred)

• Frameworks and Libraries:

  • Data manipulation and automation frameworks, scripting libraries, APIs for data extraction and validation

• Development Tools & Methodologies:

  • JIRA, Confluence, Git, Agile practices, version control, process documentation

• Security Protocols:

  • Basic understanding of data security, encryption, and compliance standards relevant to financial data

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years supporting regulatory reporting platforms or data management systems in financial environments

• Significant experience working with Axiom and RegSol platforms for report generation and validation

• Proven troubleshooting expertise in data workflows, system failures, and validation issues

• Experience with data reconciliation, regulatory frameworks (Basel, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MAS) is a plus

• Industry experience in financial services, banking, or fintech preferred; alternative experience in similarly regulated industries is acceptable

Day-to-Day Activities

• Monitor and troubleshoot data flows, batch jobs, and automation scripts for Axiom and RegSol systems

• Resolve technical issues related to report creation, data validation, and system failures

• Collaborate with analysts, developers, and vendors to analyze discrepancies and implement solutions

• Maintain documentation on issue resolution procedures, workflows, and best practices

• Support system configuration, deployment, and automation activities to improve efficiency

• Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and testing for regulatory submissions

• Participate in team meetings, troubleshooting sessions, and continuous process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, or related fields; equivalent experience in support or data management

• 5+ years supporting regulatory reporting platforms with hands-on experience in Axiom and RegSol

• Strong understanding of financial regulation standards and reporting processes

• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills

• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines

• Certification or training in financial regulation or data management is a plus
