Role Overview

As a Restaurant Captain, you will be the face of Xao’s hospitality. You will lead a section, mentor junior team members, and ensure every guest leaves with a memorable fine-dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a station (4–8 tables) during service while maintaining composure under pressure
• Deliver personalized, knowledgeable, and graceful service in line with upscale dining standards
• Present menus, explain dishes and ingredients in detail, and expertly recommend food & beverage pairings (sake, craft cocktails, wines)
• Handle guest queries, special requests, dietary restrictions, and allergies with confidence and care
• Train and guide stewards/servers on service sequence, grooming, and product knowledge
• Coordinate seamlessly with the kitchen for perfect timing and presentation
• Manage billing accuracy, upselling opportunities, and smooth table turns
• Ensure all SOPs, hygiene standards (FSSAI & HACCP), and restaurant policies are strictly followed
• Contribute to pre-shift briefings and daily de-briefs

Requirements

• 2–5 years of Captain experience in upscale/fine-dining restaurants or 5-star hotels (Pan-Asian, Modern Indian, European, or multi-cuisine)
• Excellent English & Marathi communication; Hindi is a plus
• Good knowledge of Pan-Asian cuisine, sake, wines, and craft cocktails
• Polished grooming and a warm, confident personality
• Ability to lead by example and stay calm during peak hours
• Familiarity with POS systems (e.g. Petpooja, etc.)
