Job Description

A Senior software engineer at SA&I in NielsenIQ is a technical oriented individual who can deliver web-based software projects. This role will require the individual to be very hands-on in developing software and be able to guide the rest of the team. The individual will be required to manage the day-to-day activities of the team. This job will need effective communication with product managers and product leadership across multiple geographies.  

Responsibilities

• Design and architect new single-page web applications and develop key system features.  
• Explore and evaluate technologies to advance software as a service platform and grow business 
• Lead a team that will execute projects from beginning to end, including working with product management, gathering requirements, brainstorming solutions, building final applications and testing. 
• Delegation capabilities to team members matching their individual experience to the task 
• Supply practical technical guidance to your product manager partner to increase the odds of overall project success. 
• Troubleshoot technical issues as they appear 
• Escalate technical issues affecting activities outside of your team. 
• Enforce community best practices and team SDLC guidelines 
• Work with your QA lead partner to ensure the overall quality of project deliverables. 
• Mentor more junior developers and encourage senior developers to mentor as well. 
• Work closely with architects, and other teams to design and implement cross functional requirements 
• Experience with solution design, unit testing and code reviews 
• Knowledgeable and ready to adopt AI first approach in SDLC

Knowledgeable with DevSecOps practices and implementation 

Qualifications

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development / engineering experience
• MS/BS in Software Engineering or related discipline
• Experience with Full Stack Software Development
• Experience in Back End programming in Java with microservice, Rest and SOAP API
• Experience in User Interface programming with Javascript frameworks like Angular, React web application development
• Experience with relational databases such as MS SQL Server or non-relational databases like MongoDB
• Familiarity with Agile process and passion for learning new technologies.
• Experience with IaaS & PaaS from a cloud vendor is a plus. 
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Expected competencies: Business domain knowledge, Business domain analysis, Technical design, In-team influencing ability, Cultivates initiative in teammates
