Simulation Engineer

Major Accountabilities:

• Perform mechanical wire harness simulations for the optimization of wire harness design and defining best 3D-routing (in IPS Cable or other simulation software e.g. Ansys, Abacus)
• Creation analysis/simulation reports with optimization and improvement proposals
• Support CBU Engineering in implementation and application of mechanical wire harness simulation method and software
• Further improvement of simulation methods and preparing related documentation
• Customizing and further improvement of simulation software IPS Cable

 

Some of the key objectives of the role include

• Support the design and development of routing 3D wire harnesses using IPS Cable Simulation software - Solve problems by applying simulation tools and making suggestions
• Complete simulation studies and engineering work orders / conduct simulation reviews with engineering team and validate design by performing various checks
• Ensure harnesses meet specifications and customer requirements
• Interface with internal/external harness engineers and support manufacturing requirements - review open issues list with customer, harness design and manufacturing teams
• Support troubleshooting and testing of harnesses and electrical subsystems
• Evaluate harnesses for cost effectiveness and reliability
