Site Reliability Engineer | Cloud Infrastructure, Automation, Incident Management, Kubernetes, Terraform, Monitoring and Security
Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a dedicated Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to support and enhance our deployment ecosystem across multiple platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of key middleware and automation tools within our enterprise IT infrastructure. You will collaborate with development, operations, and support teams to implement best practices, troubleshoot issues, and drive process improvements that align with organizational goals and industry standards. Your expertise will help sustain high levels of continuous service for critical applications within a dynamic, global environment.
Software Requirements
Required: Azure Cloud services, ServiceNow, AppDynamics, Splunk, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, SQL Server or Oracle, Windows/Linux scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
Preferred: Cloud-native deployment tools, monitoring dashboards customization, Mainframe/ChangeMan, enterprise security tools (SAML, OAuth2)
Experience level: 5+ years supporting middleware, deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure
Overall Responsibilities
Manage and support the deployment and operations of middleware, automation, and cloud-based systems ensuring high availability and performance
Lead incident escalation and resolution activities, implementing preventive measures for system stability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cloud deployment pipelines and automation workflows
Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) and deployment pipelines (Jenkins, Git)
Conduct root cause analysis for critical system incidents and recommend process and architecture improvements
Support system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to meet operational SLAs
Document operations procedures, best practices, and configuration management processes
Facilitate compliance with security standards and enterprise policies
Support change management, release planning, and incident management processes
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Essential: PowerShell, Bash, Python for scripting and automation support
Preferred: Java, C#, or other enterprise scripting tools for integration and automation tasks
Cloud Technologies:
Azure (central platform), basic AWS or GCP familiarity for multi-cloud support (preferred)
Frameworks and Libraries:
Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps, deployment automation frameworks, monitoring SDKs (Azure Monitor, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk)
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Jenkins, Git, version control, Agile/Scrum, DevOps best practices, incident management (ServiceNow, Jira)
Security & Compliance:
Encryption, IAM, access control, threat detection, and adherence to security standards (SAML, OAuth2, GDPR, SOC)
Experience Requirements
5+ years in supporting middleware, deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure
Proven experience managing large-scale enterprise systems with a focus on fault-tolerance and high availability
Hands-on expertise with cloud deployment (Azure, AWS, GCP), infrastructure as code, and automation tools
Extensive incident management and root cause analysis experience in complex environments
Industry preference: Fintech, banking, healthcare, or enterprise IT sectors; equivalent large-scale enterprise support experience acceptable
Day-to-Day Activities
Support and automate deployment, configuration, and scaling of enterprise middleware and cloud systems
Monitor system health, preemptively detect issues, and conduct troubleshooting to resolve incidents rapidly
Lead root cause analysis efforts to identify and remediate vulnerabilities and systemic issues
Coordinate across teams to ensure best practices, compliance, and continuous improvement
Automate operational workflows and enhance monitoring dashboards for better visibility and alerting
Maintain documentation for system configurations, procedures, and incident resolutions
Participate in on-call rotations, support releases, and contribute to capacity planning activities
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
5+ years supporting enterprise middleware, cloud deployments, and automation solutions
Certifications in Azure, AWS, or cloud security are preferred but not mandatory
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Experience in incident management, root cause analysis, and system optimization
Proven ability to work independently and lead operational support activities
