Vice President, Infrastructure Engineering

What does a successful Vice President, Infrastructure Engineering & Operations do at Fiserv?

As a Vice President of Infrastructure Engineering & Operations within Fiserv Technology Services, you will play a pivotal role in collaborating closely with CTO portfolio leaders and CIO teams across various infrastructure requirements and transformation initiatives. This key leadership position drives efficiency, optimization, and service delivery while managing a significant portion of our global organization based in Global Services. You will champion service excellence, uphold platform stability, security, and resilience, and enable Fiserv clients and customers. Your deep technical, architectural, and domain skills, combined with a commercial orientation and fiscal prudence, will ensure the provisioning of world-class solutions that empower the Fiserv brand.

What will you do:

- Lead end-to-end operating model ownership within FTS.

- Ensure platform stability and infrastructure availability at all times for critical applications and products for the time zone, following the sun.

- Lead from the front during incidents and provide leadership to triage and restore services quickly in a command center setup, while handling stakeholder and client communication needs effectively.

- Engage with product vendors and service providers at a strategic level

- Engage with business stakeholders regularly to understand their needs, involve them in joint planning and drive high stakeholder satisfaction.

- Act as the single point of accountability and escalation for technology service provisioning to clients, the business, and the FTS organization.

- Ensure execution of enterprise-wide programs and initiatives aligned with strategy.

- Drive adoption and enhancement of enterprise tools, automation and transformative initiatives

- Combine technical and operational acumen to enable technology solutions.

- Optimize technology utilization and drive organizational change management across internal and external stakeholders to meet functional, financial and compliance goals.

- Leverage emerging technologies, new product adoption, AI Ops, automation, and lifecycle management to drive efficient outcomes.

- Advocate for clients with ownership of the technology change roadmap.

- Demonstrate effective risk management and bias for action in remediating risks once found.

- Develop talent and mentor techno functional organization to take on global responsibilities.

What you will need to have:

- 20+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and operations, with a focus on compute and storage technologies, operating systems, database, middleware, cloud, end user, container and network services.

- 10+ years of experience in the banking and financial services industry.

- 15+ years of experience in managing global teams and delivering technology service solutions.

- Bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science and/or equivalent military experience.

- Demonstrated expertise in ITSM, SRE, Automation and Telemetry/AI Ops

- Experience setting up and managing command center for triaging and quickly restoring services

- Strong hold on Change Success and Proactive Problem Management

What would be great to have:

- 15+ years of experience in driving transformational improvements in infrastructure.

- 15+ years of experience in leading large-scale infrastructure projects, including mergers and acquisitions.

- Proven ability to manage third-parties, hardware & software vendors, and external infrastructure providers.

- Knowledge of ITIL controls and adherence to compliance processes through effectively managing vulnerabilities

- Strong leadership experience in building and sustaining a diverse workforce aligned with corporate and country goals.
