Job Description: Steward – Kerala CaféDepartment: Service / Operations

Reports to: Restaurant Manager / Supervisor

Location: Kerala Café

Role OverviewThe Steward is responsible for ensuring cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth operational support within the restaurant. The role includes maintaining the dining area, washing and organizing utensils, and assisting the service and kitchen teams as needed.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDining Area & Guest SupportMaintain cleanliness of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and service stations.
• Assist servers by clearing tables promptly and resetting them for the next guests.
• Ensure water glasses, cutlery, plates, and napkins are available and well arranged.
• Support the service team during peak hours.
• Back-of-House SupportWash, clean, and store all kitchen utensils, equipment, and crockery safely.
• Ensure proper waste disposal and maintain cleanliness in dishwashing areas.
• Help in basic kitchen support tasks when required (e.g., carrying supplies, restocking).
• Maintain hygiene standards as per restaurant SOPs and food safety guidelines.
• Coordination & OperationsAssist in receiving and organizing deliveries (vegetables, groceries, supplies).
• Handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
• Follow daily cleaning schedules for floors, counters, storage areas, and restrooms.
• Report any maintenance or hygiene issues to the Supervisor.
