Job Title: Clinical Prevention Services Officer – HIV Program

Location: Chhatisgarh


Department: HIV Prevention & Care Program


Reporting To: Program Manager / Cluster Prevention OfficerJob SummaryThe Clinical Prevention Services Officer will be responsible for delivering comprehensive HIV prevention services in clinical and community settings. The role focuses on HIV testing and counselling, prevention interventions, risk assessment, linkage to care, and ensuring adherence to national HIV/AIDS guidelines. The officer will work closely with healthcare teams, community outreach workers, and program stakeholders to reduce new HIV infections and improve health outcomes.


  • Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical ServicesConduct HIV screening, testing, and counselling (HTS) as per national guidelines.

  • Provide Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) services.
  • Support Treatment as Prevention (TasP) strategies and viral load monitoring follow-up.
  • Screen and manage sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
  • Ensure Prevention of Parent-to-Child Transmission (PPTCT/PMTCT) services where applicable.


2. Client Counselling & Risk ReductionProvide pre- and post-test counselling.

  • Conduct risk assessment and develop individualized prevention plans.
  • Educate clients on condom use, safer sex practices, and harm reduction.
  • Address stigma, discrimination, and confidentiality concerns


3. Program ImplementationSupport implementation of HIV prevention strategies at facility level.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation.
  • Ensure proper reporting of program data to supervisors and authorities.
  • Maintain stock records of HIV test kits, ART, PrEP/PEP drugs, and prevention commodities.


4. Coordination & ReferralEnsure effective linkage to ART centers for HIV-positive clients.

  • Coordinate with community-based organizations and outreach workers.
  • Participate in review meetings and training programs.
  • Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Nursing (GNM/B.Sc Nursing), MBBS, or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Minimum 2–4 years of experience in HIV/AIDS programs, STI clinics, or public health projects.
  • Knowledge of National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) guidelines.
  • Experience in counselling and community engagement preferred.
  • Required SkillsStrong clinical and counselling skills.
  • Knowledge of HIV prevention, ART, PrEP, PEP, and PMTCT protocols.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work with key populations and maintain confidentiality.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
