Sampler (10th Pass)

*Job Purpose:**

To collect, label, and prepare representative samples of raw materials such as iron ore, coal, dolomite, limestone, and coke for quality testing, ensuring that material quality meets production and customer standards.

### **Key Responsibilities:**

1. **Sampling Operations**

  * Collect raw material samples from conveyor belts, wagons, trucks, or stockpiles as per defined sampling procedures.

  * Ensure samples represent the entire lot or consignment.

  * Prepare sub-samples for laboratory testing (moisture, ash, volatile matter, Fe content, etc.).

2. **Sample Handling & Lab Coordination**

  * Label, record, and transfer samples to the laboratory in proper condition.

  * Maintain sample register and ensure traceability of all samples.

  * Assist lab technicians in preliminary sample preparation (drying, crushing, sieving).

3. **Quality & Process Compliance**

  * Follow BIS / ISO / internal sampling standards.

  * Adhere to safety, health, and environmental guidelines while handling materials.

  * Report any deviations in material quality or sampling anomalies to the Shift Incharge.

4. **Equipment & Housekeeping**

  * Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of sampling tools and equipment.

  * Calibrate sampling instruments periodically.

5. **Documentation**

  * Maintain sampling records, daily reports, and stock movement logs.

  * Support audit and inspection processes by providing relevant data.
