Job Description
We’re hiring a hands-on CAD Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain AutoLISP / Visual LISP tools that automate repetitive drafting tasks in ZWCAD. You’ll convert manual workflows (sections, schedules, table parsing, attribute population, batch processing) into robust, well-documented LISP routines that our drafting team can run with confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain AutoLISP / Visual LISP (VLISP) routines for ZWCAD workflows.
- Automate generation of sections, schedules, markups, and block insertion with attribute handling.
- Parse DWG text/tables and export/import data (CSV/Excel) and populate block attributes programmatically.
- Create simple user dialogs (DCL) or CLI prompts for routine configuration.
- Implement defensive error handling and edge-case checks (missing layers, empty cells, UCS variations).
- Work closely with engineers to translate manual drafting steps into automation specs and iterate based on feedback.
- Provide clear usage instructions, inline code comments and short demo sessions for the drafting team.
