Staff Nurse-NICU/PICU

Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled NICU / PICU Nurse to deliver high-quality critical care to neonates or pediatric patients in intensive care settings. The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical skills, emotional resilience, and a deep commitment to providing specialized nursing support for critically ill infants and children. Experience in high-acuity environments and working knowledge of life-saving equipment are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage the condition of critically ill neonates or pediatric patients.
• Administer prescribed medications, intravenous therapy, and life support interventions.
• Operate and maintain specialized equipment like ventilators, incubators, and monitors.
• Assist physicians during examinations, treatments, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including vital signs and care activities.
• Provide emotional support and clear communication to families and caregivers.
• Follow infection control protocols and safety guidelines at all times.
• Participate in code situations and respond swiftly to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive patient care planning.
• Educate families on post-discharge care or ongoing treatment plans.

Requirements:

• Proven work experience as a NICU or PICU Nurse.
• Current nursing registration with the [Insert Nursing Council/Authority].
• Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Familiarity with critical care monitoring equipment and pediatric emergency protocols.
• Ability to work in rotational shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualification:

• Minimum: General Nursing & Midwifery (GNM) or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Preferred: Post-basic diploma or certification in Neonatal or Pediatric Critical Care Nursing.
