Job Description
Role SummaryWe are looking for a proactive and accountable Sales Team Leader to manage day-to-day sales operations, drive target achievement, ensure timely lead follow-up, maintain CRM discipline, support collections-before-dispatch processes, coordinate territory deployment, coach the team, and escalate critical issues to management on time.
Key ResponsibilitiesTarget & Team Management
- Break monthly, weekly, and daily targets into actionable goals for each sales representative.
- Assign tasks clearly and monitor completion, productivity, and performance.
- Track shortfalls early and take corrective action.
Lead Management
- Manage leads from all sources, including IndiaMART, Meta campaigns, and other channels.
- Ensure same-day contact with every fresh lead.
- Enforce lead aging control and reassign stuck leads quickly to maximize conversion.
- Monitor lead source performance and improve conversion ratios.
Territory & Team Deployment
- Plan and manage sales coverage by state and district based on business demand.
- Allocate team members according to workload, geography, peak time, and product fit.
- Support B2B and B2C growth by building specialist capability where required.
CRM & Data Accuracy
- Ensure all leads, follow-ups, call logs, outcomes, and contact details are updated accurately in CRM.
- Conduct daily CRM hygiene checks and correct errors immediately.
- Train team members on proper CRM usage and reporting standards.
Coaching & Training
- Conduct onboarding for new joiners on product knowledge, CRM, scripts, payment process, and sales workflow.
- Organize daily huddles, weekly reviews, role-plays, and refresher training.
- Provide real-time coaching and corrective feedback to underperforming team members.
Collections, Dispatch & Delivery Control
- Enforce payment-before-dispatch policy.
- Coordinate with logistics and finance for unpaid, rejected, or delayed deliveries.
- Track dues and ensure timely recovery or escalation.
Operational Monitoring
- Monitor calls, follow-ups, attendance, punctuality, conversions, revenue, and overall team productivity.
- Enforce response time, follow-up cadence, and customer service standards.
- Maintain high operational discipline across the team.
Market Intelligence & Dealer Support
- Track market demand, competitor pricing, and slow-moving or high-demand products.
- Coordinate with dealers, resolve complaints, and support forecasting.
Escalation & Reporting
- Resolve customer and team issues within defined timelines.
- Escalate unresolved or high-value issues to management within 24 hours.
- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports with clear insights, risks, and recommendations.
- Authority & Decision RightsApprove short-term shift swaps or leaves within company policy.
- Reassign leads to balance workload and recover opportunities.
- Recommend hiring, PIP, or termination cases to Sales Manager.
- Temporarily hold incentive eligibility for suspicious sales, with proper reporting.
- Required Skills & QualificationsGraduate / Postgraduate preferred.
- 3–7 years of experience in sales operations, team handling, or field sales.
- Strong knowledge of CRM, lead management, follow-up discipline, and sales reporting.
- Good communication, leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage targets, collections, and team performance under pressure.
- Experience in B2B / B2C sales preferred.
- IndiaMART or digital lead handling experience will be an advantage.
