This role is crucial for identifying vision problems, prescribing corrective lenses, and screening patients for common ocular diseases. The Optometrist will operate specialized diagnostic equipment, facilitate tele-consultations with Ophthalmologists, and ensure high-quality patient management for eye care services within their assigned area.

Key ResponsibilitiesI. Clinical Services & Patient Care

Comprehensive Eye Examination: Conduct detailed primary eye examinations, including objective and subjective refraction, visual acuity testing, retinoscopy, and slit-lamp examinations.

Prescription & Dispensing: Accurately prescribe spectacles, contact lenses, and low vision aids based on patient needs, and advise on appropriate dispensing options.

Ocular Disease Screening: Perform preliminary screening for common ocular conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and other anterior/posterior segment disorders.

Patient Counseling: Educate patients on eye health, hygiene, management of refractive errors, and the proper use and care of vision correction devices.

II. Technology & Tele-Ophthalmology Support

Diagnostic Equipment Operation: Proficiently operate and maintain specialized ophthalmic equipment (e.g., autorefractometers, non-mydriatic fundus camera, tonometer) to capture and record accurate diagnostic data.

Tele-Consultation Facilitation: Seamlessly facilitate tele-ophthalmology consultations by capturing high-quality images and video, preparing detailed patient case history reports, and ensuring a smooth link between the patient and the remote Ophthalmologist.

Data Management: Accurately document all findings, prescriptions, and referral outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

III. Operational & Referral Management

Referral Coordination: Manage the internal referral process for patients requiring secondary or tertiary care (e.g., surgical intervention, advanced medical management) to partner hospitals/specialists.

Quality Assurance: Adhere to all clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and quality management systems established by CureBay.

Community Outreach: Participate in community-based eye camps and outreach programs to increase awareness and screen underserved populations.

Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Optometry (B.Optom) or Diploma in Optometry from a recognized institution.
