Job Description

Job Summary:The Chef de Partie (CDP) – Continental is responsible for managing a specific section of the kitchen, preparing high-quality Continental dishes, and ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and hygiene standards. The role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present Continental dishes according to standard recipes and guidelines.
  • Manage and oversee a specific kitchen section (e.g., grill, sauce, or cold kitchen).
  • Ensure all food is prepared fresh and meets quality standards.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation.
  • Supervise and train Commis chefs and kitchen assistants.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist in inventory control and ordering supplies.
  • Ensure proper storage of food items and minimize wastage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene as per food safety standards (HACCP).
  • Coordinate with other kitchen sections to ensure timely service.
  • Assist Sous Chef and Head Chef in menu planning and recipe development.

Required Skills & Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts or relevant field.

  • 2–5 years of experience in Continental cuisine in a hotel or restaurant.
  • Strong knowledge of Continental cooking techniques, sauces, and plating.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Good leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Experience in preparing vegan and plant-based Continental dishes, including knowledge of alternative ingredients and dietary requirements.
