Mechanical CAD Designer

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer / SolidWorks Designer to support our machine manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems used in industrial machinery. This role is essential to ensure accurate and efficient design-to-production workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create 3D models and detailed 2D engineering drawings using SolidWorks and other CAD software.
• Develop designs for mechanical components and complete machine assemblies based on engineering concepts and project requirements.
• Modify existing drawings and designs based on feedback from engineers and production teams.
• Ensure that all designs meet functional, safety, and manufacturability requirements.
• Work closely with mechanical engineers, production, and procurement to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) for each design project.
• Assist in prototype development and support the design validation process.
• Organize and manage CAD files, version control, and design documentation.
• Apply GD&T standards and engineering best practices in all drafting work.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
• 2–5+ years of experience in mechanical CAD design, preferably in machine manufacturing.
• Proficient in SolidWorks (essential) and other CAD software such as AutoCAD or Inventor.
• Strong understanding of mechanical components, sheet metal, weldments, and assemblies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing standards.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in drafting.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience designing automated machinery or mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with PDM (Product Data Management) systems.
• Knowledge of industrial standards (e.g., ISO, ANSI, DIN).
• Exposure to CNC manufacturing or sheet metal fabrication is a plus.
