Job Description – Senior Press Operator

Job Summary

The Senior Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring hydraulic/thermic presses used for manufacturing engineering plastic sheets. The role includes process control, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and guiding junior operators to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate press machines as per production plan and material grade

- Control heating and cooling cycles, temperature, pressure, and time parameters

- Ensure correct placement of moulds, MS/SS plates, and polymer powder

- Monitor product quality, surface finish, thickness, and dimensional accuracy

- Identify and resolve process defects such as warpage, delamination, black marks, or voids

-Maintenance for breakdowns and preventive maintenance

- Maintain production records, batch traceability, and shift reports

- 

Required Skills & Knowledge

- Strong understanding of engineering plastics processing

- Knowledge of hydraulic press operation and thermic/electric heating systems

- Ability to read process sheets, drawings, and work instructions

- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills

- Leadership and team-handling capability

Qualifications & Experience

- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Plastics, or related field

- 3-5 years of experience in press operation (plastics preferred)
