Textile Pattern Designer

Core Responsibilities

• Pattern Creation: Translate designer sketches, tech packs, and specifications into accurate paper or digital patterns for all sizes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with designers, sample makers, merchandisers, and production teams to refine designs, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical guidance.
• Fit & Quality Control: Conduct fittings, make pattern adjustments for perfect fit, and ensure patterns meet quality standards and buyer specifications.
• Grading: Develop patterns for different sizes (grading) to ensure consistent fit across the size range.
• Technical Management: Utilize CAD software for pattern drafting, marker making (optimizing fabric usage), and data management.
• Production Support: Provide sewing instructions, calculate material consumption, and manage the approval process for mass production. 

Key Duties

• Interpreting Designs: Understand design details and blueprints.
• Drafting & Cutting: Create rough drafts and cut patterns using manual tools or software.
• Fittings: Attend fittings and implement necessary pattern tweaks.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed pattern records and specifications.
• Training: Mentor junior pattern makers.
• Staying Current: Keep up with new pattern-making technologies and trends.
