Job Description
- Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Preparation: Clean, cut, and prepare metal surfaces for welding using grinders and other tools.
- Welding: Perform semi-automatic MIG (Gas Metal Arc Welding) using CO2 gas to join metal parts in various positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
- Setup: Set up welding machines, select appropriate wire and gas settings, and maintain consistent heat and feed.
- Quality Control: Inspect welds for defects, ensuring they meet quality standards, and perform finishing tasks like grinding.
- Safety: Adhere to strict safety protocols, wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), and maintain a clean work area.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with fabricators, fitters, and supervisors.
- Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
