Job Description

We are looking for a Laser Cutting Designer who is proficient in CorelDRAW and has hands-on experience creating production-ready drawings for laser cutting. The role involves converting design intent, sketches, or reference drawings into accurate DXF / CDR files suitable for laser cutting, bending, and fabrication. This role sits at the intersection of design and manufacturing, and requires strong attention to detail, dimensional accuracy, and an understanding of sheet-metal processes.

Key Responsibilities

Create and modify CorelDRAW drawings for laser cutting (steel, aluminum, SS, etc.)

Prepare production-ready files for laser machines (CDR / DXF formats)

Ensure drawings are dimensionally accurate, properly scaled, and optimized for nesting

Coordinate with the production team to understand fabrication constraints (bending, welding, tolerances)

Make revisions based on shop-floor feedback and trial runs

Maintain drawing versions, part numbers, and basic documentation

Assist in creating simple fabrication drawings when required (bend lines, hole positions, annotations)

Follow standard naming conventions and drawing control processes

Required Skills

Strong working knowledge of CorelDRAW (mandatory)

Experience creating drawings specifically for laser cutting

Basic understanding of:

Sheet-metal fabrication

Material thicknesses

Kerf, tolerances, and bend allowances

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work closely with production and operations teams

Preferred / Good-to-Have

Experience with DXF files and laser machine workflows

Exposure to sheet-metal parts like enclosures, panels, brackets, facades, or partitions

Basic knowledge of bending / CNC press brake processes

Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
