Industrial Tailor

Commercial tailors create, alter, and repair garments by taking client measurements, discussing design specifications, cutting and sewing fabrics, and making precise adjustments to ensure a perfect fit. Key responsibilities include managing customer satisfaction, maintaining a clean workspace, staying updated on fashion trends, and ensuring high-quality craftsmanship in all finished products. 

Core Responsibilities

• Consultation and Measurement: Discuss fabric and style preferences with clients, take precise body measurements, and record them accurately.
• Garment Creation: Design and create new garments from scratch, including drafting patterns, cutting fabric, and sewing pieces together using hand or machine techniques.
• Alterations and Repairs: Modify existing garments to improve fit, comfort, and style, such as shortening sleeves, adjusting seams, or hemming. This also includes repairing damaged clothing by re-attaching buttons, stitching tears, or replacing parts.
• Fitting: Fit garments on clients to check the fit and make on-the-spot adjustments, ensuring the final product meets their requirements.
• Finishing: Press garments with irons or machines and add finishing touches like embellishments, padding, or other shaping materials.

• Customer Service: Provide excellent service to ensure customer satisfaction with the final garment.
• Work Area Management: Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace.
• Trend Awareness: Stay informed about current fashion trends, techniques, and materials.
