• Maintaining and updating financial records:
• This includes tasks like posting journal entries, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate data entry. 
• Preparing financial statements and reports:
• Junior accountants may assist with the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports. 
• Reconciling accounts:
• This involves comparing bank statements, ledgers, and other financial documents to identify and resolve any discrepancies. 
• Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes:
• This includes tasks like preparing adjusting entries and reconciling accounts in preparation for financial reporting. 
• Supporting audits:
• Junior accountants may be involved in providing documentation and information to auditors during financial audits. 
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations:
• This involves adhering to relevant accounting principles and regulations, such as GAAP. 
• Assisting senior accountants with various tasks:
• This may include tasks like preparing tax returns, managing payroll, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting. 

Qualifications and skills:

• Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is typically required. 
• Experience: While entry-level, some experience with accounting software and basic accounting principles is often preferred. 
• Skills:  Tally ERP / Microsoft Office- Excel are important. 
• Other: Excellent communication and organizational skills are also valuable.
