Job Summary

The Plant Operator Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day plant operations, ensuring efficient production, safe working conditions, and optimal use of manpower and machinery. The role involves managing plant operators, maintaining equipment performance, meeting production targets, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations

Supervise and coordinate daily plant operations and production activities

Ensure smooth functioning of machinery and equipment

Monitor production output, efficiency, and downtime

Implement operational plans to meet production targets

Team Management

Lead, supervise, and motivate plant operators and shift staff

Prepare duty rosters and manage shift schedules

Provide training and guidance to operators on machinery and safety

Conduct performance evaluations and discipline management

Safety & Compliance

Ensure strict adherence to safety rules, SOPs, and statutory regulations

Conduct safety meetings, audits, and toolbox talks

Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards

Investigate accidents and implement corrective actions

Maintenance & Quality

Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance

Ensure product quality meets company and regulatory standards

Identify process improvements to reduce waste and improve efficiency

Reporting & Documentation

Maintain daily production, maintenance, and manpower reports

Report operational issues to senior management

Ensure proper documentation of plant activities

Educational Qualification

Diploma / BE / BTech in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Production Engineering

Experience

2–5years of experience in plant or manufacturing operations
